The lawyer behind the firm

Osman Turhan grew up through the Turkish science-high-school system, graduating from Niğde Science High School before entering the Faculty of Law at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. The faculty teaches part of its programme in English, so he began with a preparatory English year and went on to be a high-honour student in every semester, finishing second in the faculty.

Outside lectures he spent three years in the Free Thinkers Club, serving on its board and chairing its audit committee. He represented his faculty as a delegate at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, and an Erasmus+ summer placement at a law firm in Saarbrücken gave him a first look at how an international practice works day to day.

After graduation he gained experience at Optima Law, Yücel Hukuk & Danışmanlık and Av. Osman Çınar Hukuk & Danışmanlık, then began practising under his own firm, Turhan Hukuk & Danışmanlık. Alongside the practice he is completing a thesis-based master’s in private law and studying International Relations at Anadolu University.

What clients can count on

  • Deadlines in writing. In the first meeting we note the date on which mediation, limitation and filing periods expire in your matter.
  • No promised outcomes. No lawyer can guarantee how a case ends, so we talk through realistic expectations before anything is filed.
  • Fees agreed on paper. Fees and expenses are set in writing against the Ankara Bar Association No. 2’s recommended tariff. A get-to-know-you call costs nothing as long as it does not turn into legal advice; reviewing a file and giving an assessment is charged.
  • Confidentiality. Client information is covered by professional secrecy, and no client files or identities appear on this site.
  • Plain language. You hear where your file stands, which routes are open and what each risks.
  • Professional rules. We publish within the advertising restrictions that apply to lawyers; see the ethical rules page (in Turkish).
